A health insurance leader approached B&C Associates to assist in developing an advanced multi-phase approach to address the diversity and inclusion requirements of the organization. Additionally, the client expressed a desire to strengthen its relationships with diverse leaders, organizations, consumers and employees in their key markets.

Procedure

B&C Associates conducted internal and external diversity assessments to gauge the culture and climate around diversity within the organization and in the community. B&C assisted with process planning and development and delivery of diversity and inclusion education for employees. B&C addressed issues around the client’s supplier programs, as well as marketing messages and media strategies in relation to diversity and inclusion. B&C also worked with this client to establish philanthropic strategies that align with the client’s business imperatives.

Outcome

The client used the assessment results to develop process strategies and plans required to address concerns, issues and challenges highlighted in the quantitative and qualitative data gathering. Ares where B&C consulted and the client employed strategies are:

• Establishment of a Diversity Steering Committee and Diversity Leadership Council
• Development of a strategic plan for diversity and inclusion
• Marketing materials were updated to reflect diversity and inclusion
• Facilitation of diversity and inclusion education modules
• Assessment of marketing materials
• Development of an ongoing management consultation program, designed to affect positive, sustainable and cultural transformation within the organization.
